This is crowdsourcing update-able page. Here we are capturing educational programs (with main focus on Master of Science (MS) degree and PhD programs), training and courses in stem cell research, cell therapy and regenerative medicine. This is open communinty-based project. Please contribute by sending us a link or by commenting under this page! If you’re representing a company, please contact us and we will promote your courses and trainings.

Dear readers, if you had any experience with educational programs, graduated, got a degree or completed the training, please share your experience with us! It will be very important for your young colleagues to hear opinions and advices about particular places, universities and programs. Leave your feedback and we will link to it.

Hi Alexey,

Please include the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering (University of Toronto) in your list. They have excellent M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Biomedical Engineering with courses devoted to Stem Cell/Cellular Bioengineering and Regenerative Medicine.

Below are some MSc (mostly) programmes that I know so far and think that they are great to check!

It would be great if the administrators (and of course anyone else), who have lots of experience in the field of stem cells, could give an opinion about the reputation of all these stem cells related courses and if they worth to apply for.

Hi George,
Thanks for updates, I included it in the list. I think, it’s great idea to share opinion and give a feedback about educational programs. I’d ask our readers to do so.

In Andalucia (Spain) we offer a Master Programme in Manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, since 2009.
The next edition starts in January 2015 there are limited number of spots still available!!!

Due to the difficulty in finding who have sound-training in the technologies related to cell therapy, gene therapy and tissue engineering, and who, at the same time, have a thorough grounding in the regulatory aspects concerning the development of these types of products as well as the necessary requirements to work in GMP laboratories, in 2009, the Coordinating Unit of the Andalusian Initiative for Advanced Therapies launched a training programme in the manufacturing of advanced therapy medicinal products. From 2010, thanks to the collaboration of the University of Granada, this programme attained “Master Degree” recognition and, since 2012 it has been offered in English with a focus on international students.

This Master in Manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products is offered as a blended learning model. The theoretical training is completed online by students at their convenience, albeit with continuous support from instructors, through a dedicated e-learning platform and the practical training is provided in a GMP laboratory for the manufacture of advanced therapy medicinal products, built in 2009 specifically for training purposes, in the Advanced Multifunctional Centre for Simulation and Technological Innovation, CMAT, managed by the Fundación IAVANTE which belongs to the Regional Ministry of Equality, Health and Social Policies.

The University-Specific Degrees offered are:

-Master Degree in Manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, specialization as Qualified Person (1,570 hours)

-Master Degree in Manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, specialization as Manufacturing Manager (1,514 hours)

-Master Degree in Manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, specialization as Quality Control Manager (1,506 hours)

-Expert Degree in Quality Assurance for Manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (1,075 hours)

Further details regarding our MASTER IN MANUFACTURING OF ADVANCED THERAPY MEDICINAL PRODUCTS can be found at: http://www.atmp-masterinmanufacturing.com. Here you will find complete information about the different degrees offered, their contents, their requirements and student profiles, information concerning the Education Advisory Board and Faculty members, fees and how to apply.
