Sir Ian Wilmut – Professor Emeritus at the University of Edinburgh and Chairman of the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine. This talk was recorded on 5 November 2013.

What I like the most from his talk is a call for international initiative to create public HLA bank of iPS cell lines. He mentioned that there is an estimate for about 600-700 allo- iPS cell lines – a number which can cover genetic makeup of entire world’s population. “Cells can be produced by the same procedure and used globally”, he said. If it will not be public and international, these lines can not be used across of all countries, because they will be produced by different protocols under different regulations.
