Lawrence Goldstein – Professor, Director, UC San Diego Stem Cell Program. His lab is studying the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s Disease and applicability of stem cell as a model and therapy.

His keynote talk was recorded 2 months ago at the 2011 World Stem Cell Summit. After 30 min of the talk, he will tell us something interesting about Craig’s Venter sequenced and reprogrammed genome as unique experimental resource.

My favorite quote from the talk:

Every problem you identify before you’re going to clinical trials in humans, that’s a step forward, because it saves you from potentially catastrophic outcome. Things that you’ll know about or things that you can control or at least potentially manage.
