The winner of the Cell Stem Cell 2010 “Best Paper” contest

Cell Stem Cell journal announced the winner of 2010 “Best Paper” contest at ISSCR 2011 annual meeting. Congratulations to Stephen Curtis from Carla Kim’s lab with a paper: Primary Tumor Genotype Is an Important Determinant in Identification of Lung Cancer Propagating Cells.

This paper was selected as the best by Cell Stem Cell’s audience by open voting.

“Take home” message from the paper: cancer stem cells with different genotype could have different cell surface markers. Therefore, in order to identify and separate cancer stem cells, genotype should be taken into account.

I like this paper myself and I glad to see cancer stem cell study by young investigator as a winner. Now guys, my favorite part – video from the authors which tell us a story how was it made:
